KAʻŪ HOSPITAL AND ITS SISTER FACILITIES SUPPORT MANDATORY COVID VACCINATION FOR ALL EMPLOYEES, once a vaccine receives full Federal Drug Administration approval.
A statement today from Hawai'i Health Systems Corp, which oversees Kaʻū and other facilites, says "Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, our hospitals have worked closely with the Healthcare Association of Hawai'i and other acute hospitals and long-term care facilities in the state to provide a uniform response to the pandemic. There is clear consensus that the best way to treat and manage this pandemic is through

vaccinations. As the 'Safety Net' for Neighbor Island Acute Care and for Long-Term Care in the State of Hawai'i, Hawai'i Health Systems Corp. supports the consensus statement of the Healthcare Association of Hawaii to require healthcare workers to be fully vaccinated upon full FDA approval of the vaccine.     HHSC is comprised facilities on Hawai'i Island (Hilo Medical Center, Hale Ho`ola Hamakua, Kaʻū Hospital, Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home, Kona Community Hospital, Kohala Hospital, Kona Ambulatory Surgery Center, and Ali`i Health Center), O'ahu (Leahi Hospital and Maluhia, Kahuku Medical Center), Maui (Roselani Place) and Kaua'i (Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital).
